Best Laundry Detergent or Powder Also What's The Difference? Top Loader

About to bulk buy some washing powder for doing the laundry just mainly the usual simple stuff (shirts/shirts/undies/socks/jeans/jumpers)

I own a top loader not a front loader.

Hang dry outside.

What's the best laundry powder that you have used and also can somebody explain to me the difference and pros and cons of laundry powder versus detergent if any or is one just suited to a certain type of laundry washing machine than the other.

Most likely will just bulk buy the coles or woolies brand laundry powder unless anybody has any good other ideas or comments on the home brand equivalents.

I remember seeing aldi's laundry powder being one of the best in some a current affairs or today tonight's episode but yeah…

Cheers and thanks for any help or input.

Loving the jokes I have been getting the past few days so far keep em coming haha lol they are all I keep coming back and live for :)

Most of the top picks from Choice are powders but they rate OMO liquid 77%:

Most Ozbargainers will go for Coles Ultra Concentrate ($4.00 per kilo) 81%, tie third behind Omo Ultimate ($11.99 per kilo) 82%.

      • Crap I cheaped out and got the lemon fresh 4kg one for $3.70 ($0.90 a kilo)

Probably going to find holes or something in my laundry m

    • Cheers thanks great website/research material.

  • The liquid is meant to avoid the build up of undissolved powder on clothes, but I don't have any issues with using powder. We have a front loader Miele and we use the OMO concentrate powder stuff. (Our last box cost us nothing because the supermarket had the wrong price on the shelf - bonus).

Best to consult with neighbour first. - Neighbour Wants Us to Change Laundry Detergent

  • Aldi has excellent laundry powder.

  • Biozet, can always find it at ColesWorth for half price. 2kg for ~$9-10.

  • Coles detergent was quite impressive! Just finished the new method detergent and also impressed for a more natural product that's non toxic! Found a lot of them promise to remove most stains yet sometimes the most simple still aren't removed!

  • We got some stuff, supposedly very good, in bulk from a relative (20kg tub). We hardly used any though because it didn't smell nice. Trust your nose!
