Recommend Superannuation for Student / Casual Worker

Hi ozbargainers,

I am a student and casual worker that makes less than $10k pa. My last super was care super and they were eating away with admin fees and contribution fees. Also they had insurance which was unnecessary.

Can someone recommend a superannuation with low fees and safe growth.

I've tried canstar review are they trustworthy reviews since they are also sponsored by these super companies.

I work for a super company. They are all full of fees etc. Stick to industry super.

  • If you're young (and therefore a long way off retirement age), you don't need 'safe growth'. You can afford to be more aggressive. (Not financial advice, etc)

But yeah, fees are a bitch when you've got low balance.

I think ING super is best for when you have a low balance. Your return is so low no matter what you do so you may as well reduce as much fees as possible.

  • Lowest fee super you can find.

    ING is good

    • Yeah had a look at canstar ing living super pretty good

But don't know if canstar reviews are reliable since they have sponsers

  • review your insurance policy and reduce or cancel it altogether.

    • Yeah I cancelled them but they still charging for death and disability

It was possible to have zero fees with ING living super but they are introducing monthly admin fees from June 2017. Are there any other funds suitable for very small balances, preferably with zero fees?

    • yeah they just introduced admin fee

  • I leisten to the radio and they suggest australian super since its big and alot of polititians use it
