What Are The Best Couch Multiplayer Play Games on Xbox One?

So I recently bought a Xbox one s bundle from all the sales.

Not a serious gamer and don't intend to play online with gold.

Just wondering what are the best local multiplayer games out there?

I had a PS3 and enjoyed playing games like little big planet for a bit of fun when family and friends come over.

Cheers

    You mean split screen?
Im my library I only have Forza (racing) and Halo MMC (FPS)

Split screen games on XB1 are pretty scarce, this link might help

    • Thanks for the link.

    • Halo MCC requires sign in to XBL, so it's not fully 'sit the hell down press start and play' like 360.

My teenage kids like playing LEGO Marvel Super Heroes in split screen. Minecraft too.
Borderlands 2 does split screen. It's a great game - though I play it solo so not sure how well it works with splitscreen.

I have some good games but they're very chair dependent and I don't think the couch would be suitable for these chair games!

  • rocket league is a great game for couch coop.

  • For more 'social' gaming, the Jackbox Party Packs.

Depending on what you're into, sports games (FIFA, NBA, etc) can be good for local competitive multiplayer. EA Access might be worth looking at if this is of interest - effectively Netflix for year old EA games so you'll have soccer, NFL, NHL, etc at your disposal.

  • Diablo 3 is meant to be good.
I'm hoping to get a copy.

I am pretty sure you would love Rayman, check it out.

  • Thanks all! Will check out all the games mentioned above!

  • Any of the Lego collection is good for 2p.
Minecraft is good for 4p local.
Forza is 2p, but Horizon is only 1p local.
    Rayman is 2p.
Most of the dancing and singing games are often good for 4p, but some need the Kinect.

    Edit: how could I forget!
The whole Skylanders collections are 2p and the portals and games are all backwards compatible with the previous characters.
You can often pick up the previous gen portal & game from EB games for $15-$20 or so.

  • Halo of course. It's the modern day Goleneye and Microsoft's flagship series.

    • Hahaha not sure if sarcasm or not. Halo5 doesn't support local, and MCC requires XBL sign in. If sarcasm though, good one. :D

    Overcooked.

    • Watch the "let's play" on YouTube to get the gist of it all :)

    • Prepair to fight your friends and scream.

Played it a bit with the friends and there was some yelling involved

  • Halo master chief collection
Borderlands collection (my favourite Splitscreen game, played 1 and 2 for years on the 360 with my brother)
    Forza
Mine craft is good if creativity is your thing. Splitscreen builds can be be fun

  • -Lovers In A Dangerous Spacetime
    -Stikbold
