Anyone seen Nintendo Switch On Display and Playable In Sydney?

As per title, anyone know where in Sydney I can have a go? I didn't notice it on display anywhere today…

  • I thought I can try on EB or jbhifi?

    • I've been to a couple of EBs and JBs today but didn't see any on display. they still had preorder signs out too…

I went to EB and JB at World Square expecting to see demo units but nothing.

No EB or JB would have them on display. Best bet is to play it at a friend's house.

Doing better than me… I have no friends and no Switch. I just stare at a white painted brick wall all day.

I asked jb hifi and they said they've asked Nintendo to replace current WiiU demonstrators with switch and it should take a couple weeks.

    • Wow, I was thinking Nintendo would be more on the ball this time round after Wii U. I actually can't remember seeing Wii U demo units though… I remember back playing a SNES demo unit, it blew me away and I got one that Christmas.

I'm interested in the concept but I'm not going to hand over $439 especially after I've heard issues about 1) blue/orange screen bricking, 2) screen getting scratched in the dock and 3) left controller not syncing up. Would definitely have to try it somewhere before buying.

    • I heard the charger plug goes at the bottom too. Would make it difficult to play on the table or bed whilst charging. I'm going to wait until they put out a 2nd version of the switch or it has more games to entice me.

      • This does not affect anything whatsoever unless you're playing it with the kickstand out. You'll almost 100% of the time play it handheld as opposed to on it's kickstand. You would put it in the dock if you wanted to connect it to a monitor

    • Okay, I own one and have not encountered any of those issues. Always a few bad apples in a bunch. Can't judge the system based on the rotten ones.

      • Me neither. I've had it for ages since that post. Do you always reply to messages posted months prior?
