Trade Wii U for Switch

I notice EB games will trade in your Wii U & games for credit on a Switch. I think a Wii U trades in at $100. They may give you a 30% credit bonus on accessories (maybe games) as well.
Does anyone have any experience trading older consoles? Is EB games a good place to trade or would somewhere else eg. CEX or gumtree be better?

sell wii u onilne orgumtree. get more $$ that way and use those funds for the switch

  • CEX is good because you can go to cex.com.au and check what price they'll give you.

But none of them will give you as much money as putting it on ebay, here's what they're selling for, depending on what condition/games:

  • ebay/facebook market place/facebook buy and sell pages.

    Gumtree has gone complete garbage.
couldn't even get sellers to respond when i agreed to pay there asking price after they say's the item is still avalible.

Remember with ebay, you'll need to account for the ebay, PayPal and posting fees too as they take a big chunk off the total price.

  • you will get way way more selling it private $100 for a wii u is a rip off

I traded my Wii U premium with a few games and got about $212 trade in for the switch. would have been more, but I decided to keep the power brick, gamepad charger and hdmi cable to use with my Japanese Wii U, so minus $15.

You get $170.95 trade in for a wii u premium plus one game.

Tips to consider if you want to trade in with eb.

    • They don't care if you have an immaculate condition console with all the original box bags, manuals etc….. so just bring what they list on their website.
    • If you have decent games, then walk into eb and buy the cheapest wii u game, Nintendo land is only $9, use that as the wii u plus game trade in deal, and trade in your decent games separately.

If you want to get more with your wii u trade in, then look elsewhere.

  • Are you aiming for the The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild???

    • Have you seen the Wii U vs Switch side by side comparison of Zelda?

      Looks EXACTLY the same lol
