Cheapest Way to Use Data Whilst Interstate

Looking at the cheapest way that my wife can browse the web and make a few Skype calls whilst interstate for a few days on her laptop.
She has no data with her current plan, doesn't want any and hardly ever use her phone at all.

I remember a few years ago, I bought a sim for $5 and got 8GB data and then I used that in a spare phone and hot-spotted it to my devices whilst I was away, worked great for me and the family for 2 day holiday.

Are there any current deals at the moment?

She will need it by the end of May 2017.

Thank You

    Kogan had a 12Gb for $1. https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-mobile-voucher-code-extra…

Not sure if it will stll be available at the end of May.

    • Thanks,

Bought the Kogan $1 sim last time it was on special.
Never activated as vacation was cancelled.

Could I still use that one? or do I need another one?

When do you have to activate it by?

Just read this bit "The unique Kogan Mobile voucher included as part of this product is non transferrable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEST on 30/06/2017. Activation or recharge must be made before the voucher expiry date. Voucher does not apply to subsequent recharges. Voucher cannot be used in conjunction with any other vouchers or promotional offers."

So I could buy it now, activate a few days before she leaves, get the hotspot working and she would be fine?

  • Kogan best.
No.2 will be Voda $30 for $10 starter pack at Woolworths 8-15 Mar. For general availability, with PAYG Plus (2 day data block $3) 365 option probably an ok bet for temporary internet. Discussed https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/295621#comment-4500474

    • Thanks how much data is that soda one?

      • 2GB per block or dataday [48 hours+], or 2c/MB up to 12 months valid.
flexible 20GB-1.5GB range with this sim activated Pay As You Go Plus.

Used above for when 14gb Kogan offers expire the earlier mid year.

I have just logged onto Kogan website and put in one of my email addresses.
One that I must have set up a long time ago with an account.
There was a $20 credit sitting there to be used by 10/3/17.

So I ordered the voucher (got a free sim), an apple lightning cable and a micro usb cable all for $0.

This was by far the cheapest !

    Thanks
