Missing Parcel - Ongoing.

Hi guys. I don't know if this is the right place to discuss this. If not please let me know.

I live in Mansfield Park. When I buy something on ebay I would get it sent to my house address if PO Box was not an option. However a lot of the times I do not get them. If by luck I get my parcel sometimes the post man would brainlessly shove it my letter box break the dam thing. If not my parcel would be left at the front porch so that strangers could just walk in and grab it. They don't bother knocking on the door as well. I has have called Australia post to complain but I was told that they could leave the parcel at the porch. I'm getting frustrated because not only I waste a month waiting for my missing items, but sometimes it's important that I get my parcel so I could complete my home projects. It's been ongoing for years. Anyone with similar issues?

No offence but Mansfield Park would be one of the worst locations to ever consider having a parcel left on the front porch, in a letter box etc, use a parcel locker: http://auspost.com.au/pol/app/locate/parcel-locker/SA/Regenc…

  • If its facing the street then IT IS NOT a safe drop location for mail
make a complaint to the mail ombudsman

I had a similar issue in an apartment block

  • Australia Post is absolutely sh*t, they do the same to me, i now send stuff to my post office to pick up which is pretty dismal. (Parcel collect - get a parcel locker number and send it to the post office or parcel locker if you have one nearby). They don't bother to knock and just either put it in plain view of the world, jam it in the postbox or leave a card. My door is bloody glass and sometimes I"ve been sitting there all day (desk is there) just to find a card in my letterbox at the end of the drive. I think the contractors just think it's faster to put the cards in the boxes and dump all the parcels at the post office. so infuriating. Then they expect you to wait an hour on the phone to complain - it does nothing.

    • Most posties fill in the card before they leave the post office and never even bring the parcel. They aren't allocated enough time to actually deliver them. Got to pay for the CEO's $5.6M pay packet.

  • We know our local postie, he signs for our stuff and leaves it at our door if it doesn't fit in our mailbox (at my wife's request). Haven't had any issues yet; knock wood

  • I gave up on Australia Post ages ago… I stopped sending stuff to my home address because they always just leave a card for collection at a Post office that is not the closest one to my home (but the next one that is on their drop route). I now use the parcel collect service even though it is not the most convenient thing.

I have lost many small parcels from ebay international sellers who had tracking all the way till the parcel arrived in Australia. And apparently you cant have really large deliveries (like a recent purchase of a 27' iMac) sent to a Parcel Collect location. So I get it delivered to my office and hire an Uber to after work to carry me and the package back home.

I have lived in 3 countries before migrating to Australia. I love this country but Australia Post is the absolute worst with delivery even thought they seem to have lot of the more modern features like a good mobile app, parcel lockers, etc.
