Lawn Mower: EGO Brushless 56V or Victa Brushless 82V

Hi guys,
I am currently after an electric, cordless lawn mower. I have narrowed it down to these two models

EGO 56V brushless
* 1 x 56V 5.0Ah battery
* Rapid Charger
* 5 Year Warranty on the Mower and 3 Year Warranty on the Battery and Charger

Victa 82V brushless
* 2 x 2.0Ah 82V batteries
* Rapid Charger
* Steel Chassis
* 5 year warranty

I am currently leaning towards the EGO because the skins are cheaper, no rust issues with plastic, and has good reviews. The Victa 82V is a fairly new product in Australia. I am pretty sure that this is a rebranded Snapper 82V mower.

I've always been a petrol mower guy, but I want to give electric mower a go. Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks!

    Ego - Shame you didn't get it at the Masters clearance for $378 or whatever it was.

    Allmowers have the EGO on eBay much cheaper than on their own website. Then use a 10% discount code (or wait for a 20% discount code) to get the price down even more.

    • i think their 10% code has expired.

      • Did you try C10AU - the deal still says it's valid

          Ahh thanks!

    Dead post revival!! Came here to ask the same thing on exactly the same mowers. (So the search button does work…)

    Can you give me an update on the Ego? I’m about to pull the trigger on one of these two, and since it's been almost 2 years, how has it worked out for you?

    • I was watching here too, but just went ahead and bought an Ego. I can't give you 2 years worth of experience, but I mowed my lawn once. And it worked well, cut the lawn. It ran for just on an hour on a charge, which did my lawn and then 1/3rd of my neighbour's front lawn (whoops). Given I hadn't mown the lawn for a while, I used the catcher instead of mulching. Looking forward to giving that a go next time, seeing if it's more than a gimmick.

      It can only run with the handle fully extended, but my handle clamp kept coming undone for some reason (about 8 times!) and it would cut out, particularly when I pivoted to go the other way or was pushing it hard through a thick/long patch. I'll have to look into that one, from a quick internet search it seems like it happens and Ego sends some more clamps but never found it happening on the first mow.

      Can't wait to mow my lawn at midnight to use those LED headlights.

      • Sweet! OP obviously doesn’t give a shit about this thread (not that they have to) because they are still active on the forum but haven’t bothered to reply. I think I'll do the same as you and just pull the trigger on the Ego as well. Get some of that sweet after dark, cooler weather mowing.

        Gonna wait for the next 10% off everything that isn’t capped at $50 from eBay. No hurry.

        • Yeah, I actually found one the exact same way. They're otherwise not on special. Plus I had a rent inspection next week so needed to bite the bullet.

  • And now I'm looking at the same options. How did the Ego turn out for you?

    • same
