I use it all the time. Just have to know which ones accept it and which ones don't. Some of the Caltex ones don't accept the eGift ones. The woolworths website has a list of the ones that accept eGift.

    • Yes I checked and there is one I can go to. I just don't want to get an employee who doesn't know how to process it. I hate holding up the line. I might call ed the 1300 number before I drive there. I also wondered if you just show them on your phone, or do you print them?

      • Never came across an employee who didn't know how to process it. You don't give them the paper or show your phone. Tell the person you are paying using eGift card… they will select that as the payment method. One the machine where you normally swipe your card, it will ask you to enter the gift card number (the online number) and then enter the PIN and you are done.

It's actually the (shorter) "In-Store" number that you need to enter, not the (longer) "Online" number. :)

          @Colin2905:

Thanks for the correction. Yes, it is the shorter number.

        Easiest way to identify:

If the sign says "save 4c a litre", the station does not accept e-giftcards.

If the sign says "save 8c a litre", the station accepts e-giftcards.

        • I see… I will keep an eye out for that.

        • Nice trick!
Also if it says "Starmart" on the billboard, definitely won't accept egift.

        • If the sign says "save 4c a litre", the station does not accept e-giftcards.

?????? mine says this AND accepts gift cards. I think you might be wrong. It might be another issue. Check the online website listed above, to be more accurate than the advice you are giving

        • @RockyRaccoon: We are talking about e-giftcards, not physical giftcards.
All stations displaying the woolies signage will accept physical giftcards, but only those displaying "8cents" will accept e-giftcards.

        • @bsmksg: I was also talking about egift cards. However you you maybe right. I'll look more carefully at the signage. Thanks

Aw you're to nice. Hell to the rest of the line. But doing as @MrHyde said is the way to go.

100%. You get to pay how you want, stuff the rest of the line.

Random poor etiquette story- was getting a drink from 7-11 on way to work at 0600 the other day. Heaps of tradies on there at the time. Came out and one of them had boxed me in. Didn't come out for 5 mins then

  • Yes, I used it all the time.

  • I don't even have a car so couldn't help much with this, sorry.

  • Yeah I've done it a couple of weeks ago

  • Yes, been using eGift cards at Woolworths/Caltex stations for around two years. Never had a refusal as long as it's co branded with Woolworths. I used to print out the PDFs but now use the free app.

    • Some have stickers stating egift cards not accepted. It states it on the pump.

  • I've never been refused either been using for over a yr.

Go in store and 'convert'/buy wish physical cards with your eGift card and no need to worry no more.

Thumbs up to KBZ. My experience is that the Caltex stores that don't take egift cards DO take physical cards. So as KBZ says just convert egift to physical in Woolworths then you're good to go anywhere!

Any Caltex with Woolworths 4c signage will take WISH cards, but not necessarily egift.
Any Caltex with "Starmart" signage will NOT take eGift cards for sure.

  • All the time, never had a problem, make sure its Woolworths proper not a standard Caltex
