I heard this was a great game encumbered by some of the nastiest DRM - one magazine review was titled "Do not buy this excellent game!". What's the deal with it now?

    • Truce about DRM but depand on how you look at it . To play this game you must register on to UBISOFT web site and activate it . The same as Blizzard now the way they are doing it to StarCraft II and all their other game . The main reason is so you don't share your game key code around with your friends.

      • So you don't have to be connected to the internet all the time to play this game in single player mode?

        • Will let you know after downloaded tonight . :)

          • @Jet: OK, Tested last night . Good game but here are my pro and con

            Pro

Cost me $29 for the game I really planning to buy for $59.95 at EB

Taking away alot of confusing about the tech tree and the way how battle work.
            Good graphic
            Nice online play

            Con

:My single game play pause for afew sec everytime the game trying to auto save (later on found out that the game is also saving back to EU server) So I turn off the online save function but still having the same problem.
:Crash my graphic card twice on my Windows 7 64bit PC.
:There is no AUS server for Online play so the latency is very high and I can't join 50% of the match . :( .

At the end good game to play , nice price for the collection even those I don't have a physical copy. I might get the crak from razor so I can play off line.

    • Straight from Wiki - doesn't sound good

      DRM Restrictions

The game is one of the first to introduce a new form of Digital Rights Management for Ubisoft games known as the Online Services Platform. The service requires players to authenticate the game at launch and remain online while playing; if the network connection is lost then the game will automatically pause. Shortly after release, reports of players experiencing issues connecting to Ubisoft's servers arose, particularly in Australia, which rendered the game unplayable. Reports of the problem seemed to spread worldwide, with a vast number of international players still unable to connect two weeks later. Pirates however were able to play the game, after the Razor 1911 warez and demo group released a crack on April 27, 2010

      • I thought that was only for online matches . But it is back then but I don't think they have this problem any more . BTW the new Assissan Creed will have the same kind of DRAM . Again my post is only about bargain pricing on the game . Newly out game with AU$29 is not bad at all.

        • Here is abit more info about the this DRAM

          Is there an "off-line" option?
No. The added services to the game (unlimited installs, online storage of saved games and the fact that you don’t need the game disc to play) require you to have an online connection while playing the game.

Can I play my game from another computer?
Yes. As long as the game is installed on the PC, you can play from any computer and your Ubisoft account will recognise your last saved position as well as automatically save any updates.

Will this system be available for every Ubisoft game?
Most upcoming Ubisoft PC games will make use of this system.
