What Would a 4 Year Old 85" TV Be Worth Today?

A few years a go a friend won a Samsung 85" series 9 TV and is selling it now.

There are no similar sales I can find on eBay but what do you think I could offer for it as it's original RRP was $40k. (apparently)

Pros are that I LOVE the look the stand, its just awesome and the TV is in great condition BUUUT the cons are that it is nearly 100kg and if anything goes then I probably couldn't afford to fix it…

I think that realistically it is probably worth offering 3k now?

I would have thought 3k was super generous.
If the guy was to sell it, who would want it?
I would be surprised if there is any one out there that would pay more than $1000 for the thing?

  • would be worth double that easy. the electronics in these are not regular retail consumer grade

  • I bought an originally priced $6400 8yo large Japanese FHD TV for $150 s/h last month. Loving it.

  • Scary thought that the devaluation of the TV is about $180 a week.

  • hmmmm… maybe 3.5k is too much then i thinks, though he has in his head it might be worth a lot more

Its only worth what some one is prepared to pay for it.

  • I would say sub $1500 max.. it's 4 years old stuff in the tech world depreciates fast like cars.

  • Why not put it to auction ??

  • Put it on ebay, and find out what its worth by the price its auctioned off at.

  • that stand is ugly as.
