I'm set on buying the inspirion 7000 that was posted here the other day.
I don't want to wait for Dell to post it though, I want it now! Are JBHIFI likely to price match on this laptop?
They have it for $1,999 and it's on clearance at Dell for $1,299 so it's a huge difference.

Dell outlet only sells used or refurbished items. That would be dishonest on your part to quote the Dell outlet price.
Learn some patience and wait the 3 days it takes for Dell to post it. Sometimes it only takes 2 days to deliver to metro areas.
I'm interested to see the Dell product link that op are comparing with JB product page? If it's indeed refurbished compared with a new it's surely dishonest.

JB would probably price match if they were selling the store floor demo one, but they would not price match on an Outlet "as new" product.

Does anyone know if dell does student discounts on outlet hardware? or if student discounts can be stacked on top of a NEW Dell items that they may have on sale with 10-20% off, or would the student discount replace the current Dell discount?

Thanks MisterMorgan. I ended up holding off for the time being as my current laptop could still do other work while I commute. But then it just died on me this week. not sure if it was the battery or a motherboard issue, but now back in the market, so appreciate the feedback.
I called them and they said it's better to come in and check, that they don't price match over the phone. I don't want to drive all the way out to my nearest JB only to be told they won't do it. I'm optimistic but it seems far fetched to shave that much off the price.
