Hi-Rez's Paladins is running a closed beta on Xbox One and PS4, and Stevivor has 1,000 free keys on each platform to give to readers so they can begin playing.
The beta starts today. An end point has not been detailed.

Even if, ripoff game for free is better than no game for free. I enjoyed the shit out of Joy Ride Turbo despite having MarioKart 8 right there.

Hahaha, I was just about to say the same thing… isnt Overwatch just a shameful rip of of TF2? :D
To be fair I think elements of the game that were said to be ripped off from Overwatch were already apart of the Paladin's Beta long before it was in Overwatch. I think the general idea is this is the "poor man's" Overwatch in a sense given it's free to play on Steam. I won't go as far as it being called a ripoff because you could easily say Overwatch ripped off other games for mechanics that were already in the market (torb = tf2 engineer, mercy = tf2 medic, stealth from Sombre = spy etc.) and even that would sound quite absurd! A game is a game and there is no shame in someone putting time and effort into creating a piece of art we can all enjoy especially for free as long as it's not like that Chinese app called 'Underwatch' (or something like that) and literally all or most Overwatch characters were ripped right out.
Highly recommend anyone who calls it an overwatch clone or ripoff reads the linked reddit post
