Spray Adhesives for Acoustic Foam?

Just got a bunch of 50x50x5cm acoustic foam, and I'm living in a rental (can't nail or use permanent glue). Was going to get the 3M 75 or 77, but they're about $30 per can, which is a bit much.

So I'm looking at Officeworks alternatives from J. Burrows and Micador that go for about $10-$12 per can. Does anyone have any experiences with those?

  • glue them to cardboard, then use command strips to stick cardboard to wall.
Be careful with solvent based glues as some can melt foam products.

  • Just be careful that it's not going to eat the foam.

What about the removable 3M hooks on both sides of the wall (and maybe near ceiling and floor) to hook thin black elastic to? You could create a grid which then holds the panels in place with no damage to the walls.

  • Command strips

  • Milliner's glue. You're in a rental so something that doesn't leave a mark would be preferable (bond$$$$)
