Dick Smith / Kogan AU / Kogan HK

I'm thinking of purchasing a camera on Dick Smith eBay and taking advantage of the CYBER 20% off offer. Say for example, with this deal, I am wondering if it would have a GST component and ABN on the invoice, since it is supplied by Dick Smith. My intention is to claim TRS.

I understand that Kogan sells products under Dick Smith's brand, and their products are supplied by either Kogan AU or Kogan HK. With items supplied by Kogan HK, there would be no GST component. With Kogan AU, there would be a GST component. How about when it's through Dick Smith?

To complicate it a bit more, the camera is an international model (grey import) that is being shipped from Melbourne.

**Edit: Dick Smith (Kogan) as replied back to me and confirmed that there is a GST component to the model.

  • I doubt it, bought iPhone 7 from kogan/DS via eBay on a prior 20% sale, invoice didn't contain GST.

    Edit:

Actually, it says it's sold from Melbourne, so it should have GST included. Though if it doesn't, you will pay import tax when it arrivesm it's a 2k item. Plus, no GST refund, if I'm not incorrect

    • Yea, it's still not clear. Was it from a Kogan listing or Dick Smith listing?

      • The iPhone was from a DS listing.

        • Okay, that confirms it. Thanks.

  • Item location: Melbourne but estimated delivery date between Fri. 31 Mar. and Fri. 7 Apr?! I'll say it's most likely shipped from overseas.

    • After a bit more research, I would say so as well. Mainly based on this article.

      • Yea I would say kogan is being a bit cheeky saying item location is Melbourne, they wouldn't surprise me to dance close to consumer law over steps. Bit dodge
