    (Marginally) cheaper over at Digidirect

  • wow, this might indicate that A7 III is likely to come soon!

  • How many shots do you get from one charge ?

    • Depending on your settings.

350 if I only use the EVF.
280 if I use both EVG and screen with full brightness.

I have 4 batteries with me for travelling purpose, so I don't really worry about the battery that much.

      • None of the Sony has OVF ?
350 shots is very less, lucky you invested in spare batteries. What lenses do you use ?

        • It's designed to be lightweight and small, hence the low capacity.

I got mine from eBay here. It works really well despite being generic brand.

None of the Sony has OVF?
Only the Sony Alpha DSLR series (note that it's not the SLT series). For eg, a900, a800, etc..

          I am a prime person, so Zeiss 35 f1.4 + Batis 85mm f1.8

Still waiting on good deal for Batis 18mm.

        • @windows7: Oh okay thanks,
My mate was looking for sony for video making, so thought I'd ask.

          I use Nikon D610 with Nikkor 35mm 1.8G and 85mm 1.8g lenses along with my 28-75mm f2.8 .

have you looked into sigma art series lenses?

        • @codename47:

Sony A7s / A7sii would be the best for video making.
A7,A7r series are more for photography.

          I use Nikon D610 with Nikkor 35mm 1.8G and 85mm 1.8g lenses along with my 28-75mm f2.8

Great gear you have there, I moved on from Sony A77 to Sony A7 series. So much lighter and easier to carry around. Never looked back to DSLR again. Haha.

have you looked into sigma art series lenses?

I owned both Sigma Art 35mm f1.4 & 50mm f1.4 (A-Mount) before using the adapter. Superb quality. I sold it as I am waiting for the FE version that's coming up end of the year :)

        • @windows7: Yeah thought so, A7sII i heard is good but $$

I had mirrorless as my spare camera and didn't like the battery life and limited choice of lenses back then.

I heard FE lenses are coming from Sony to provide cheaper lenses
