Motorola Moto X 2nd Generation

G'day all!
I've been offered a brand new unit for $280.
Is this good value?
Also, anyone knows whether the 2nd sim slot is only 2G (which Telstra has shut down recently) or whether it's 3G or better? I need both slots to be at least 3G capable.
Any comments from current owners, good bad or ugly much appreciated, thanks in advance
Cheers de old rocker

Use the search function - was selling for <$200 in 2016.

Sounds like it's a grey import. Impossible to say, without knowning the exact variant.

Good phone, but look at the Moto G4 instead - it's newer and selling for a similar price point.

The Moto G4 is now on 'clearance' because the G5 and G5 plus is already released. I predict the G5 is prolly around $350 AUD when it lands here (it sells for 199 pounds in the UK)

There is also a cheaper Moto G4 Play that goes for $248 via Officeworks but it's probably not worth getting because the second sim slot is 2g… practically useless as a dual sim device.

  • I gather the X was a flagship model & has NFC. Now a bit long in the tooth, technology wise.
Motorola has confirmed to me the 2nd sim slot is 3G capable.
G5 now? Wow!! Prices keep falling eh?

  • Amazon has special for Prime customers, G4 for US$179 or A$240… but it's pre-loaded with amazon advertising!!! Not sure if ads can be disabled or not

    • us g4 is for US cell signal
      Not compatible
