These are great. Good price too.

    • Just want to say these are excellent

Charges my Samsung S7 Edge full battery in about 40ish minutes
Does about 3 and a bit charges for my mobile (fast charge) or 1.5 mobiles and 1 tablet (ipad air)

      Couldnt recommend enough

  • +3

This suits me because I am also bi-directional.

      Here is your 🌈 flag.

    • So you can buy or not buy such a bargain?

  • +2

If you're wondering how much these can charge I get about 2-3 charges for my phone (Galaxy Note 4, which has a big battery).

The next step up from these kind of power banks is the type that you can use to start a car - roughly $100 and maybe 3-4 times as big as this type. Huge capacity though.

    • I grabbed a car jump start battery off ebay, one of the generic "25000 mah" ones. Jump started my car 3 times, couldn't even charge my phone once

      • +1

Maybe it was putting out the wrong voltage or too high a current?

  • +1

Is this power bank allowed in carry on luggage on flights? I am planning to go Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia with Air Asia in May and will only be taking a 7kg carry on bag with me so am confused if I can take it with me as I am interested in buying one for traveling.

      • Thanks mate! I guess I can buy it!

    • +5

Yes, stored in your carry-on only since it is a spare battery. 100Wh per battery is the limit before the need to apply for permission from the airline and/or limitations. Wh = mAh × V / 1000. So this Xiaomi battery is 10000mAh x 5.0V / 1000 = 50Wh which is under the 100Wh limit.

EDIT: I see already answered lol.

      • +2

You'll actually notice if you look super closely at the specs that it's 10,000mAh @3.7 volts so it's even smaller

        • +2

Ah, yes you're right because of the Li batteries. I see they actually have the information already listed: 10000mAh 3.85V (38.5Wh).

  • What are deliveries like with Banggood?

    • I'm in Perth and delivery usually takes 1 month but I've heard cases of people waiting in excess of 2.

If you're in a hurry Banggood is probably not the right place to buy from.

      • I really like banggood but when I ordered one of these last time it never made it to me (missing or customs got to it), however banggood happily refunded me. Just my input here, others have received them though.

    • Just received one from a recent order, was pretty quick, around 2 weeks. (Melbourne.)

      • My tracking said arrived Sydney on 8Mar but still waiting I am not sure why.

        • My tracking also shows the same. Arrived in Sydney on 8th March and nothing after that. Hopefully it's not a custom issue

    • Just received mine, ordered 2 weeks ago! 4th time buying with banggood, no issues with delivery.

    There's this option too:

Genuine Xiaomi 2nd Gen 20000mAh Polymer Power Bank Charger Dual USB Output with Quick Charge 3.0
(3.6A, can charge iPads etc. and they suggest MacBook, though I don't know how much you'd get out of it) $45 shipped

If you purchase through their eBay store via this deal and use Cashback it'll only cost you $1.24 more and you'll get it a month quicker as that deal is Australian stock, might be a prefered option for most.

SS also have the 10000 mAh version in Aus stock but it's $3 more, if you are in a rush/want Aus stock. I'd go with the Banggood deal myself (and 6% topcashback or 4.8% cashrewards as well on top).

    • Banggood has these for $46.29 https://www.banggood.com/search/20000mah.html

  • I've got a Romoss which has all the specs printed on the battery. Good idea I think for getting past check in.

  • what's the benefit of QC2.0??

    I have the old version

    • Charge faster if you have QC2.0 phone or charger.

    • Takes me 8-10 hrs to fully charge the power bank, phone charging is pretty fast though

      • Do you have QC2.0 on your charger to charge the power bank? I heard it is QC2.0 both way. But you know Quick charge only fast on 75%.

        • Derp.. I have a regular charger.

  • Keep in mind that its capacity is 6900mAh 3.85V, not 10,000 as specified. Just received my order from one of the previous 'GearDo' deals for $29.75 shipped from Melbourne.

I also have the previous model which is smaller and heavier, but the capacity on that is 6250maH 3.6V, so the current model is much better and supports QC 2.0 fast charge which is great for Samsung's and phones that support fast charge.

However, both power banks were able to charge my iPhone 6+ 4-5 times on a flat battery. Well worth the price!

    • Surely everyone knows that all 0000mAhr figures are bullshit. Real battery capacity is given in Watt-hours.

These will do 5Ahr @ 5V if you are lucky, as the boost converter is not very efficient at such low voltage.

      • +3

Why are you assuming "surely everyone knows"? I didn't know, until today.. "Surely" there was a time when you also didn't.

        • +1

heh yeah, the only sure thing is everyone DIDN'T know at some point.

    • +1

      Source on that 6900mAh figure?

    • +1

      It's 6900mAh 5V (10000 * 3.85 / 5, minus about 10% conversion loss).

      • So it's still not 10000 as advertised

        • If you crack it open, there's a 10000mAh 3.85V battery inside. Xiaomi would tell you that that is what they are advertising. But of course, I think - as I suspect you do too - that it is very misleading to use that figure because its one purpose is to charge 5V devices.

        • Watch this Android Authority on power banks and why they kinda lie about its capacity.

So basically USB requires 5v and the cell inside of the Xiaomi 10000mAh power bank is about 3.8V or so. The circuitry inside of the power bank has to step up the voltage in order to be for the USB to give out charge and by doing that some of the capacity of the power bank has to be used therefore loosing some of it 10000mAh capacity. Then transfer over the usb cable to the phone where it charging circuit inside has to step down to the phone battery voltage. Also some of the capacity of the power bank is also lost as heat. The only good thing about Xiaomi that I haven't seen from other companies is that they tell you the actual capacity that is usable which in this case is 6900mAh which is much better than the other Xiaomi 10000mah power banks where their usable power is a bit less. i.e 10000mah the short fat one that has 3 18650 cells inside of it has a usable capacity of 6250mAh. Of course this changes on the how the power bank is treated and may not actually give out all of its 6900mAh usable in its life.

To the electronics engineers and people who have far greater knowledge than me about this topic feel free to correct me since I just typed out what I got from that video in case that guy doesn't have 7 minutes watching a youtube video. Also apolgies my sub par english when I didn't pay attention when I at was school and at around 12:50 AM when typing this up.

        • @dazweeja: you need 5V to charge the battery, but the battery inside is again 3.8v. 1000 mah @ 5v charges a 3.8 battery by about 1300 mah.

    • No, you're getting the voltages mixed up.
      The capacity is 6900mAh @ 5v
The advertised capacity of 10,000mAh is at 3.85V.

Thanks, finally bit the bullet and grabbed one of these. Now to hope it arrives in time for Easter!

  • Both colour sold out :(

    • Still works for me.

You will never see these customs stop them from coming in

    • +2

I've successfully ordered four of these now and haven't had any issues of this type. The 20000mah is my favourite!

    • Received mine from the last sale two days ago.

  • +1

Just ordered a black unit with 2 Xiaomi usb lights (new version with on/off switch) and 2 silicone cases. The cases are very useful as it gives you a place to store the cable.

As others have written I havent found any issues with carrying these on a plane. Very useful when your phone is about to die and you havent finished watching your favourite movie.

    • Xiaomi USB fans seem to be pretty useful too.

      • +1

        I'm a big fan.

    • +1 the USB lights are great, aswell as the silicone cases.

  • will these work with the nintendo switch?

  • +1

Have two, one still unopened… Tempted to purchase a third.

  • Will this fast charge a nexus 5x or 6p?

From what i can understand I'd need the 20,000 version for that but would rather save $20 if possible

  • Handy charger, I own this as well. I keep it in my bag just incase. It's a bit chunky to keep in pocket but i have kept my iphone and this brick in pocket a few times when I needed to go out without a bag (and keep the phone charging).

  • Anybody else received their order? Except those already mentioned?

    • I'm still waiting on my order - ordered on 1/3.

Does it normally take over a month?

      • Track your order see when is it.

Mine arrived Sydney on 8Mar but still nothing.
