Custom Made Curtains Best Place to Buy Cost Effectively

After months of looking around, I'm now stuck as to where I can go to for best value custom made curtains. I have been tracking curtainsonthenet.com.au but they are also very expensive, a blockout curtain of 265W x 260H costs $619. A sheer of the same size is $218. I've been to Spotlight but they don't do drops like 260cm.

Hoping to hear from others. Thanks!

  • Lincraft?

ebay looks like a possible source-
    red velvet 600 x 270cm $72.90 delivered
    300x270cm $45 delivered
    etc

look at the "curtains" category and then hit the search option on the left hand hand side for "blackout" - or click this link, scroll to the bottom of the page and hit the "view 200 items" box and then do a "control-f" search for the word "long".

    • Thanks! I never knew that there were so many choices on eBay. The downside though is it won't be "custom made" to precisely the size that I need. Will have to find one with the closest match I guess.

      • you can always do the height/drop alteration yourself by using hemming tape. you basically make a fold at the drop length you require. leave about 2 cms extra (cut off the rest) fold the 2cm length up and place the hemming tape within the fold and iron it. same for the side.

it's as cheap as $3 for 100metres from china on ebay

or find a work-from-home seamstress (can't think of a less archaic term) to do the alterations. I have a lady up the road who has a sign out the front of her house advertising tailoring. I went to her to have some cushion covers made. she was fast, efficient, professional and -an ozbargain requirement- cheap.

        yeah?
