Looking for a Web Developer

Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a web developer? I have already had the site built by my developer and designer but need to find someone for ongoing maintainance and 'caretaking'. Any suggestions? Must be reputable…

  • What's it built with?

  • Im a developer. What do you class as reputable? What technology is the site created with? What are your expectations and thus how much are you willing to pay? Fixing occasional browser bugs is vastly different to daily or weekly content updates.

  • ASP.NET 4.5, IIS 10, MSSQL 2016, Java used for email sub-service.

Reputable as in I can reference their work. As for the work we require it could vary, but in time could involve version 2 release of our web application eventually…

    • Ah, you mean a "real" website :) In Australia you get so well paid for .NET I don't know how many budget-friendly people you'll find for ongoing maintenance (though you didn't specify budget, this is OzBargain :)). You could potentially find someone reputable on Airtasker that's on hiatus but they may dump you once they score employment.

      • No expectation of budget…all dependant on what they deliver

        • +1

That definitely might help in the long-run. I've never been but I know some experienced developers that go to .NET meetups (I guess this is the popular one in Sydney? https://www.meetup.com/Sydney-NET-User-Group/).

The main advantage is you can see if there's a rapport. Like Kill Joy says it's very hard to gauge trustworthiness on-line (let alone ability).

  • I work full time with those technologies at a mid level, so I might shoot you a pm if you're happy to accommodate hours outside the traditional 9-5.

Agreed peter, my salary has doubled over the last 2 years. It's getting quite lucrative in the Australian market as people get over the hype of cheap foreign labour that never delivers.
