Anyone Use Rain X on Their Glass Shower?

I've just installed a new glass shower and I'm not looking forward to scrubbing soap scum etc.
Anyone else use Rain X car or shower on their glass? Does it work? Does one work better than the other? Or are they both the same product?
Rain X shower is a couple of dollars cheaper at Bunnings than the car stuff from Supercheap.

Yes, these are fantastic for getting off soap scum, cant beat them, I no longer buy the 'branded' erasers as I now buy 1 dozen for $2 down the local market instead of $3.50 each.

  • i use rain-x on ours.
it definately reduces scrubbing, but doesnt eliminate it.

  • I use Spot-X is that the same thing? - its good stuff

it used to be at bunnings but I cannot seem to find it now on their website

  • Rain-X is awesome on the car windshield.

I did try it on the glass shower screen, but it doesn't work anywhere near as well. There is no wind in the shower to blow everything off the glass.

Apparently dishwasher rinse-aid is excellent on shower glass for reducing soap scum.

  • These hydrophobic coatings are broken down by soaps but are still somewhat effective if applied regularly. I've always wondered how Dishwasher Rinse Aid would go … has anyone tried this?

  • I've used it on glass shower, not that great, i still have to squeegee the walls after shower.

  • if you want to save even further, Aldi sell a version too of Rain X. I bought some on a recommendation from a friend who used it on his shower. I got some from Aldi in Box Hill yesterday for $3.99 on clearance (there was about 4 left after i grabbed a couple)

    • No Aldi's in Tasmania :(
