When they are flying really, really close to your house.

    • LOL or look up images of "Jetstar flights"

    • and at roundabouts. gotta give way to them if they are on your right.

    serious answers only please

OP have you ever been to the airport?

    • -1

      yes.

Let me rephrase. When should I look out for those Jetstar Japan Winter specials on flights??

      • +3

        generally around winter.

        • Obviously

  • You are asking a question that no one can give you a definite answer. If you haven't already, why don't you sign up to Jetstar to receive their special offers and alerts via email.

    • -2

I never asked for a definite answer. I asked for a vague idea on when these specials seem to occur.

      • +3

With your attitude, I hope you never find Jetstar winter special deals.

        • -4

reciprocating your attitude to begin with. thanks mate!

Ignore op, she clearly isn't very bright - just look at this train wreck of a post https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/250266

        • -2

@Baebs: I wrote that in a rush was meant to say when is winter in Japan.

People make mistakes how rude to call someone not very bright.

      • +4

Well you could use this site to get vague idea. Search for Jetstar deals and go through the deal history. Now tally up all the specials to Japan for the travel period you are looking at along with the dates these deals were published. You have your answer.

        • -3

was using this site to save me the research from previous japan goers

I did Hakuba once in February and conditions were similar to Australian spring. Was the tail end of their season though and I only hear good things about Sapporo in the north. Just check out the season dates along with historical snow fall records and make your own decision as for your window of opportunity. Keep an eye out for those specials or sign up as lippy suggests.

    • Thank you appreciate it!

    • +4

did hakuba in late march was still better than australian spring

snow sports..held to ransom by the weather gods

      • interesting.. thanks!

      • +1

It rained for me :( Top of mountain was just ice. I'm pretty sure I got it in lemon mode. The park was still usable but I really wanted some freshies.

        • true
i was definitely park days more than freshies

you need to go up north for more "consistent" freshies

but again doesnt matter where you go weather gods makes or breaks
could be that windy even the gondola close

when i want to go to a place I watch ozbargain for flights to that area. and then check for the dates I want. and if the deal offers them then I buy the tickets. or if they tickets are stupidly cheap then I buy them.

that's why I was in Melb in Jan, Cairns 4 weeks ago, India last week, will be in Vietnam in 3 weeks time, Japan in June and China in September.

    watch, check and book.

I booked mine last September/October during the return for free sale for Feb just gone

    • +1

Me too but I booked for March. Came back to Australia yesterday.

Still large mounds of snow everywhere in the town when I left Hakuba on March 16. It was snowing at Lake Chūzenji on Tuesday morning 21st.

I paid $550 return from BNE to NRT with bags.

Jetstar was awesome as I had a whole row to stretch out on coming back from NRT and they put me on an earlier connecting flight coming back from Cairns which turned a 5 hour layover into 1.

      • Wow what a great deal! Good to know thanks for your response
