tried to activate an older card and the guy wouldnt activate
in the past i have activate cards 2-3yrs old and they were fine with it.

I just activated a SIM from middle 2012
2012!
So its a fault with THAT sim or that sim details.
Maybe just a bad SIM?
Edit: Actually if it activated correctly and has signal, then the SIM's fine, it's just that the system doesn't recognise it's supposed to automatically recharge it by the value stated on the pack. But since the pack specifies the value and no expiry date, I'd say the user has a good case for claiming the credit by contacting CS.
