Need Help to Remember a Book Title

Hi all, I am keen to buy a friend of mine a copy of a book to read, but I have forgotten the title of it, and the author. Perhaps someone knows the book I am thinking of. It is a really excellent read about semi-recent and not so recent events in macroeconomics, with a focus on things like the GFC, Greek crisis etc. It was published about 5 or 6 years ago I think, and from memory each chapter is centered on a specific country or region.

I think the title contains some sort of allusion to tax, or something like that, but I could be wrong about that.

It's a really great read, and I know I haven't provided much to go on, but I'm hoping someone can help me out here…

Cheers!

That's it!!!, you must be some sort of 'Google wizard'!!!!!

I tried Googling it for about 1/2 an hour, and found just about everything but it. Great work Mr Eater! You are a legend. AND such a quick response too. Sincere thanks.

It's a truly entertaining read btw, even for those with virtually no understanding of 'macro-economics' (like me):

    • Damn now you got me interested. Is this something like freakonomics?

  • There seem to be three books by him called Boomerang. Which one would you recommend?

    • Boomerang, Travels in the New Third World
    • Boomerang, The Meltdown Tour
    • Boomerang, The Biggest Bust
    • Would be keen to know too.

  • Michael Lewis has a load of good books to his name. The Big Short, Money Ball, Flash Boys, Liar's Poker etc. Good reads.
