LaCie Rugged Thunderbolt and USB 3.0 2 TB Experiences?

Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone has any experience using this hard drive. I am after a drive which offers both TB and USB 3.0 since I will be switching between Mac/Win once in a while.
The other alternative is to stick with a WD which works out $100 cheaper, but only has USB 3.0.

On Amazon I am getting this shipped to AUS for AUD $242. That's $60 less than any Aus stock avaialble.

Would be keen to know your thoughts.

its not that rugged and not worth the mac tax. just get a regular portable.

      Yep.
2 TB Toshiba from officeworks on eBay. $99 less 5% delivered.

      • But that's just USB 3.0 right? Did @captobvious mean TB is not worth the price? The TB speeds are way higher from what I am reading…
I plan to read/write process images from this external drive on a couple of computers. That's why I am after a portable + USB/TB option…

  • An option-
    Overwhelming bulk of reviews positive.
I have the earlier 1TB version of this drive from best part of 4 yrs ago. Same case; knocked around a fair bit and the drive still works fine.

Depending on just how much money that extra connection means to you - and just how much you want a ruggedised case, that may be a useful steer for you.

    • Thanks, looks solid!
But I'm less concerned about knocking it around, more after the Thunderbolt & USB 3.0 option.
