Anyone Used ORBITZ.com for Flight Booking?

I am currently looking at Melbourne to Toronto flights for 30 June - 8/9 July dates.
Since it's peak time, the tickets I am finding are around $2,400 mark with one stop (in LA) and $2k-$2,200 mark with multi stops.

While searching, I found tix on ORBITZ.com with two stops (Syd & LA) for $1,400.
It sounds too good to be true!
Since I'm travelling to attend a wedding, my travel dates are fixed and any cancellation or change will ruin the whole plan. Hence, I'm scared to book this since if sounds too good to be true, then it may come with some catches (e.g. flights cancellation etc).

Has anyone used this website? Is it trustworthy?

Also, please recommend any other site that may have cheap tix. Happy to have it with up to 2 stops max.

Thanks.

  • My first thought it that the price is in USD. Many US travel companies charge in USD by default and some don't even have the option to change to AUD.

  • Orbitz is a US site so that would be the price in USD.

$1,494 USD is about $2,000 AUD.

EDIT: Have used Orbitz for flight bookings in the US.

  • +1

Hey there. Try IWTF. The cheapest I could find for the exact dates you specified is $1838 with United Airlines. If dates are not an issue, and you don't mind the crazy layover times, there's a ridiculous price of $798 with Philippine Airlines in October. Good luck!

    • Since I'm travelling to attend a wedding,

      • Ah! Missed that. Obviously dates are an issue then lol. Apologies OP.

  • Thanks a lot guys! Didn't realise that they're American and prices are not localised.
    Will check IWTF as well.
    Cheers.
