Looking for a Set (4) Tyres (245/35/19) Mid Range - Perth

Hi I'm looking to get a set of tyres for my car. 245/35/19. Got a quote from Bridgestone for $990 for RE003s. Would there be much difference in these and an entry level range in Bob Janes for around $620? Anyone any suggestions. In Perth. Cheers

Don't buy cheap tyres. Some may be good, but most will be bad. The difference: your braking distance, especially in the wet. The first time I bought branded tyres, I was shocked at how much of a difference it made. Will never compromise on this again.

Wait for a "buy 4, pay for 3" special. Bob Jane has them right now on some tyres, including RE003's.

I have found Bridgestone to be good, but your quote seems high (though it's dictated by how common a tyre is, so I can't be sure if it's fair).
I have bought RE003's, and they have a program that if you have damage (had a puncture the other day) they will replace it for you, and you only have to pay for how much thread you used up. So if you used it for 10% of a normal lifetime, you pay 10% to replace it.

I have often used http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/ to compare tyre quality, as I am no expert.

  • Big differences between the two, RE003s are more so sport/track/race specific hence the really good grip however 'average' tyre wear rating. Not sure what BJ's you're referring to; let's assume BJs All-rounder, then its fit for the very purpose. Like any true OzB would say, wait til the tyres you're looking for are on sale such as 'buy 3 get 1 free'. (Easter sales is around the corner ). Oh and do yourself a favour and do Not buy those cheap no name budget tyres as they have the worst grip, stopping range and are annoyingly loud. Hopefully this helped?

These Dunlops aren't bad for just over $900

Or some decent Pirelli's for about $950

    • Do not buy dunlops, they are horrible
