That's a pretty good deal. I've seen first year free before but I haven't seen free credit as well.

Used it once to hire a van to pick up a sofa I bought off Gumtree. Deliberately hired it after midnight to avoid the hourly charge (you only pay for mileage if you book between 12am-6am)! Paid ~$6 for it lol

The gumtree seller let you pickup the sofa after midnight??

      • +3

        LOUNGE!! Straya peeps.

      • We discussed it the night before as to where exactly I'd pick it up from and he was actually giving it away. He left it on the street (guess this only worked cause he was giving it away!) and didn't have a van the first night so had to come back the second night!

With the $25 free driving credit does it only apply on the first booking? Say for example: I hire a GoGet car for an hour ($10.45) and drive 10km ($0.4*10=$4) so I've spent $14.45. Would I have $10.55 remaining or does the entire amount get deducted?

    • +4

The credit just comes off your total bill for the month

      • this. Goget issues an invoice at the end of the month

      • Awesome thanks!

If you join GoGet before the end of the year

That's cool, I'll wait until December.

    Whaaaaa?

  • How Much for the deposit if its for General use? go starter…?

    • There is no deposit

      • It's a valid question though. When I was a member last year, for every booking I made, they put an authorisation charge for excess on my cc of (from memory) $1,500. This would disappear automatically after a week or so but can be inconvenient when you tend to max out your cards. Have they scrapped this?

  • Is this much better than the free for life Ikea family deal?

  • Have an dormant account with them (got it when it's free to join via Ikea but have hardly used it). Can I close that account & open another one under this promotion?

    • Even when you close your account, your account ID (typically your phone number) cannot be the same as your previous one. I wonder how long they keep data of users who are no longer account holders in their systems for. I would keep your current account live if that's free for life, this one will revert to $49 after 12 months.

      • Mine currently says dormant so I'm not sure if they'll charge me charging me annual fees if I use them again.

  • what the difference between standard, premium and super fancy?

    • +3

The type of car. All the normal 'economy' cars (eg 80% of their fleet) are standard, then you have premium for eg Rav4 and then the various Audis in the fancy category.

  • how do you find a van, did a quick search only show where the cars are but not what they are, as in until you click on one. But don't want to click around at random to try and find one? just found the advance search opton…
