wow such a negative assumption on something you have no idea about!
works fine at my local, I used it in the first week they got it and there was a slight delay as the manager showed the operator what to do, but no big deal and since then no problems at all…
Why dont you just try it?
As for the steps you place your order you choose pickup in store or drive thru you choose pay now or pay at register….Youre then given your order number (after payment if you chose pay now) and you drive up to the speaker tell them the order number then drive to the window to pay or get your drinks then on to the next window to get your food…..
What did you imagine would happen? I mean lots of things go wrong when getting KFC, under cooked chips, box full of drumsticks, long drive thru lines…..what is the "disaster" you imagined?
I read a forum post where someone paid on the app then a lot of what they wanted wasnt available (they do sell out of things sometimes i guess) so they were told to email for a refund to be processed…I guess the store not being able to do the refund directly in that rare scenario would be inconvenient….

Use it all the time, tell them the order number, tell them I have a voucher for free chips and drink, pay with credit card at window. Easy
The apps allows for much easier customisation of orders vs doing over counter.
The drive thru pickup is seamless
Yep, sometimes not even the order number asked for.. You should click "in store" as you drive up, as far as I can tell..
Most of the time I go to KFC, the drive thru is packed, takes 10-30 mins to get to the speakerbox (at meal times) , so the drive thru option is out for me. In store pickup was great though.
All the time, and have had no issues. In fact I've only had issues when picking up inside.
You just go to the speaker/window and tell them you have an app order along with your order number then just proceed to the next window.
