I Won $5000 from Energizer Batteries

I don't want to advertise this to my friends or family too much, but I thought I'd tell it out loud to my OzBargain family.

I bought A 16 pack of Energizer batteries on a half price special, not even aware there was an "instant win" competition on them. I almost absentmindedly entered and was told straight away that I won $5000 !!!

I got an eternal straight away confirming the win, and a phone call 5 min later saying the same.

Now just waiting for the cheque in the mail!

(not trying to brag with this post, just letting you all know that real people do win these competitions)

    Congrats. 13 years ago we won a Hills Family Trampoline & Swingset from a Foxtel comp (Nickledeon). We only made one phone call, it was a very nice Christmas surprise for our 3 year old :)

    And 4 years ago I won $3000 worth of power tools from radio station 3AW in Melbourne :)

      I won $20 for third prize. My family laugh and say that ins't even as good as the Monopoly card that says you have won second prize in a beauty pageant.
      I retort that I am by definition a "professional meme creator".

    Won a weekend away flight to to Kalgoolie on the radio . Was so excited as we had only been In The country a few months after immigrating !! Only After did I realise why no one else had entered lol

    I won a Sega Master System with some games from a newspaper contest back in 1988 or so.

    I was off primary school with a broken/fractured ankle or something, so it made the time go faster.
