I've bought a pair of these as Amazon has them on sale, they ship from Japan. These IEMs have the best isolation of any IEM at a whopping 42dB, they also have superb audio quality, they have been described as having a very 'accurate' audio quality so if sound accuracy matters to you these are a great choice. Having such great sound isolation means that you can listen to audio at lower volumes potentially preventing damage from happening to your ears.

Side note: I bought these a few days ago and then after they shipped I found this on eBay, one lucky ozbargainer can potentially get these for $128.50AUD on eBay. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Etymotic-Hf3-/222451117840?hash=i… I've checked eBay for these IEMs previously to no avail but here they are brand new a fantastic deal. I really should've checked eBay again before I bought them on Amazon, oh well.

  • These IEMs have the best isolation of any IEM

    That's a bit optimistic :D

Sound isolation is a prerequisite for all IEM's to deliver sound properly at all.

    • I'm pretty certain that those Etymotic triple flanges are the best option you have, if you're looking for passive isolation. You just need to get accustomed to them as they're designed to go very deep inside your ear canals.

  • I've had a pair. They are good, but honestly, i reach for my Xiaomis when I need a pair of buds. Sound is pretty good (just as good, but YMMV) and a lot cheaper if i lose them.

    • Which Xiaomis? I have a pair of both too and the HF3 is WAY better IMO. I do have the custom ear buds tho

      • Also curious, would love a budget set of Bluetooth headphones with a decent quality mic (often on phone allot for extended periods as part of my job)

      • I've got a few, but i use the hybrid pro hds when i travel. Good set of buds, especially for the price.

  • Had a pair of these years ago. Loved the fit of putting them deep in your ear canal, blocked most outside noise meaning didn't need to turn the volume up as loud, and great sound from the earphones. Only down side was the cables wore out and frayed within a year of heavy use.

Would def buy again but don't wear IEMs much these days.

    • My cables didn't fray, but the back came out from the earphone itself :3

  • I absolutely love the analytic sound these produce and the isolation is the best I've personally experienced.

Mine lasted around 3 years of daily abuse use.

Worth noting that Etymotic offer an excellent replacement program.

    Absolute steal…

  • Hmm, I'm not seeing those prices…

    • Just checked still getting $117US for the HF3 w/ Mic
