Belhaven Scottish Ale $44.90 a Case $14.90/6 Pack @ Dan Murphy's

80

note: best before May 2017

For those who enjoyed the Belhaven Twisted Thistle IPA or the Old Golden Hen English Ale $40 case deals last year.

I think this is a wee pricing error, or they've brought down the price from approx $60 and are discontinuing the line like the IPA. Price is very good for a 1.4 abv import beer with very good reviews. Note the IPA was 1.5abv so similar.

      • I'm sure retailers who get contacted directly will greatly appreciate what they've done.

  • $44.90 at Mona Vale NSW

  • Any idea of Best Before date?

  • Make sure to shop around when in checkout. My local didn't have a full slab, the next I couldn't pick it up for a week, then I found a store that must have stock and I can (hopefully) collect today. It seems it my be an EOL clearance.

    • I'll pick up later this arvo as well, but i noticed my local is now out of stock after my purchase so clearly EOL. Only worrying thing is that the obscure craft beers tend to not get purchased in my area, and can sit on shelves for months i reckon.

      • Yeah, I've seen some brews months past their BB. I'll be checking before leaving the store. I wonder, if they are past their BB, if they'd give them to me for free.

Mine are May 2017. I checked the neck on one from each 6pack they put in a box.

@sween64: good ales are usually fine beyond best before dates :)

Belhaven Twisted Thistle IPA is my second favourite beer. The sales were excellent last year.

Yeah, I must've bought about 2 slabs when they were discounted at $34 last year. Really love a syrupy beer as it is, but to have a more bitter syrupy IPA beer instead of stout was great. A real nice mix. I've had a 6 pack of the Scottish Ale and i'm not very impressed so far. I guess it's my fault for expecting twisted thistle level beer, and not a scottish ale. But it's still nicely syrupy (smooth)

        IPA <> Scottish Ale :)

Well yeah. But Twisted thistle IPA was so good, that i'd be willing to try every other Belhaven drink that i come across until i've tried them all. A bit like Sierra Nevada or 4 Pines, got to try them all no matter the different types. Sierra Nevada Otro Vez was one i'd never tried before, but had to give it a go when i saw a 6 pack
