Ford Focus 2005 LR 2.0L Spare key with remote

Got a quote from locksmith at a shopping center for $250 including remote. Is there any other places i can get it cheaper?
I am located in the western suburbs of Melbourne.

    Just go anoothrr place and ask. I had quoted rom $600 - $150

    you can always just tape the key under the dash somewhere. and just get some regular keys cut.

    who would know?

    it's a 2005 focus - getting another key programmed sounds like you're going to be paying a good % of the vehicles value.

    Programming a key yourself works with Toyotas as I have done it… this link says it can be done with a Focus as well..

    Lost key or broken? If broken, you might be able to buy a blank online. Get it cut for a few bucks, implant your chip into it. Cost well under $50. If it's lost, do you really need a remote key for the spare?
