Port out from TPG Mobile to another MVNO

Hi OzBargainers,

Hope you all are well. Pardon me if this has already been posted in many threads but I am having difficulty to find the right answer as some posts takes such a wrong turn that you lose track what you wanted. But there is no other better place than OzBargain, that's the fact.

Currently I am with TPG T4GA plan with phone nos. My partner needs to make lot of overseas calls so I kind of narrowed to Lebara mobile but there is bad stories about their CS and sometime you are stuck and no help. So is there any other MVNO who can offer cheap calls to Asian countries specially the country you hardly see is in bundle or free-tier plan. Maximum $30 can spend currently paying $20 which is desirable but looks like that's hard. My partner doesn't need a lot of data may be 1.5gb max.

With me I need around 3gb data. Currently suffering from bad network congestion in vodafone network specially on the train on Southwest line in Sydney. It's bad and a high time for me to move on. I don't make lot of calls let's say around $250-350 credit is sufficient for me. But data is important not after a lot of fb or Twitter but needs to access lot of work related stuff. My budget is around the same max $30 but $20 would be nice even $25 is also okay. I have looked around and kinda narrowed down to Yomojo 2GB $20, Coles 2GB $20, OVO $25 and lastly Boost $30 would be my last resort. Except boost all are optus which I haven't used for ages. Ruled out ALDI mobile and Woolworths as they use Telstra wholesale network which also sucks as one of my mate suffers big time in his home as well in many areas in Sydney like metros. I have seen a lot about people talking about Kogan which is again Voda. But there are so many good things about Kogan so wondering is that using Vodafone retain network like boost use Telstra retail/full network.

I have read reviews on whatphone.com.au as well whistleout.com.au and looks like they all are biased…Sorry this is my personal observation but can be wrong.

Please help me folks as I don't like switching fast like some others. Once again thanks for all the help you all give, this is called community powered Aussies.

  • Which countries does he call to? Some new plans have unlimited called to certain countries (usually US, UK China, India, Singapore, etc).
Another suggestion is to use over the top (OTT) apps like Skype and Viber.

  • telechoice has some plan with international included too.
i moved from tpg to telechoice

  • Thanks folks, my partner would be calling India and Bangladesh and some time usa.

Spoke to Telechoice and they seemed NOT sure what is wholesale or retail network also they do that credit check, I got a clean credit file and don't want someone to touch that unnecessarily.

Price and feature wise Telechoice seems attractive however not heard anybody I Kno use them. Hoping they won't give me pain.
