Looking for a 65" TV w/ HDR for < $1725

I'm looking at the Hisense 65" 65M7000 TV and the best I've found most recently is $1725 from JB Hi-Fi in Hurstville, NSW.

It seems these are on clearance now as Hisense gets ready for a July release of their 2017 TVs, but I was wondering if anyone knew where I can get one for close to their lowest price ($1475)?

I've spoken with a few JB's and Good Guys and they're not been willing to budge much on the price…

I'd be willing to consider any other decent TV - but none are around this price.

Thanks in advance!

  • I bought the Hisense series7 couple months ago and no regrets! $1700 is an OK price but might go cheaper with the new series coming out this year, Depends how long you can wait for a cheaper price but don't see it going cheaper than $1500.

  • Ive seen Sony 65X7500d for around that price.

    • do you have a link? I can't find it anywhere near that…

      • On sale at JB in the past, search ozbargain archives.

        • ok, I could have done that - I'm looking for a price for now :)

        • Just say you've seen them sell it for $1790 in the past and your offering that now cash. Can't hurt.

  • The series 3 are going for $1157 at the moment at Able

If you're getting impatient then this is quite a good buy, but of course, depends on your needs. You can get HDR via firmware update on the 3, where as the 7 already has it. You can google for other differences between the two, but again, depends if you're just using it for TV watching, or gaming, etc.

    • Do you have a link/details re the series 3 supporting HDR? If that's the case it's a real bargain. I want it for my Xbox one s and Netflix in 4k

      • +1

        Have a read of this:

Basically, there's no "official" HDR, but
A french firmware update allows you to get HDR via HDMI 3 and 4. Perhaps follow the links to AVforums to read further.

People seem to have been able to update firmware and run their xbox one s' with it successfully. As for Netflix 4k, you might be able to run it via your xb1 on HDMI 3/4 instead of using the built in app - assuming the built in app doesn't support it - this I'm not sure about.

Maybe take a trip to JB and play around with both.

  • Every year they get cheaper and I stay the same age.. wait what..
