Cancelling Credit Card Linked to Priority Pass - Affects Membership?

Hi all

I've recently started using Priority Pass from my Westpac Black credit card, see promo -> https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/298462, question is what will happen to my Priority Pass membership if I cancel my Westpac card? Will I still get 2 free annual visits? This is relevant because Priority Pass issued a 3 year account stating 2 free visits per year and I expect to cancel the card before the end of the 1st year as annual fees will kick in

Help from anybody with experience would be appreciated..

Cheers

Once you cancel your CC card, it will automatically cancel with PP.

Got the priority pass with the Westpac black card a few years back. I cancelled the credit card but was still able to use the priority pass the following year. I haven't tried this year so don't know if they've changed their policy. Just log into your priority pass card online and it should say how many lounges you have left for that year.

  • After cancelling a credit card, anyone know how long they take to process the cancellation of PP? I wonder if it's possible to cancel and still use it for a period of days/weeks until they process it.

    • It doesn't cancel instantly, but the time between card cancellation and PP account cancellation doesn't seem to be predictable - I had one that lasted 10 months before getting cancelled, and another that disappeared within a week. I'm guessing data is bulk uploaded to PP at some regular interval?

      • Thanks, good to know.

  • Fyi for others, cancelled after about 6 days.
