  I can see the FX 70-200 2.8 labeled 'VR'.

  Is this the current 'VR II' or the old one?

    It's the latest E-type (electronic aperture) 'FL' (fluorite) model.
    Older ones (VR / VR II) are G-type and don't have FL notation.

        Honestly haven't read up on it much as I'm not in the market for it, but Thom Hogan is my go to source for Nikon related articles, and the review seems pretty positive.

    Its double the usual cash back. Only for 4 days, all cash backs are doubled.

  Good spot. Those that haven't put through their claims from the last d3400 deal would effectively get double now. I lodged mine already (not received yet) … :(
