Restaurants That Sell Vegetarian Food! - VIC

I'm after restaurants that sell good vegetarian food, what are your recommendations?

Taste of Thai in Thomastown is pretty good. If I go to Hungry Jacks with the boys I normally get a veggie burger, KFC I get their chips, etc…

Speaking of veggie burgers, why don't Maccas sell 'em?

What other places do you recommend that sell good veggie food?

Felafel kebab. mmm (edit - sorry, you asked for restaurants but I was thinking of fast foods after reading your post)

    • I've head of falafel wraps, and kebab wraps, but never "falafel kebab", enlighten me, it sounds yummy!

    • I like shish kebabs or turks call them adanas. I sometimes do kofta over the bbq. That's about it, I don't like any other meat.

I suggest psychological help is more important than a menu. No one sane can reject a steak.

        • Once you have a good steak, you never go back.

Of course it does. What else would all the lefties eat?

      • I'm left handed and I resemble that comment. lol

      • Where do the right wing nut jobs eat?

        • Meat obviously. Usually off the side of the road.

  • White lotus next to Vic market does tofu mock meat. I found it challenging when eating there as it looked, tasted and had the texture of meat.

Most of the indian and mexican restaurants will have vegeterian options..

    • I've been to one mexican and a few indian ones, would be nice to have more recommendations though.

Not sure if you are from Melbourne, but there are few good Indian spot in CBD - Delhi Street, Dosa Hut to name a few. For mexican, my go to is Guzman y gomez.

        • I am from Melbourne. Will add those to my list thanks :)

        • @Tuftsdude: Another one is called Momo station which sells Nepalese food with vegetarian options. Food is good and cheap..Be prepared to wait if you go during lunch time.

Are you just looking after non meat menu items or also other non item products like no onion garlic or mushroom etc? I ask because for me this is common.

If just meat honestly dominos spicy veg trio or cheese pizza is really goood enough for most meals imho.

Subway is also another no brainer.. just get what a non vegetarian would normally get but minus the meat part still tastes great.

Uhm yeah a spinach and cheese gozleme at a "kebab" shop is also usually pretty good and tasty for vegetarians.

Lord Of The Fries - it's all vego and most people don't even know…

    • Tried them once and I couldn't finish the fries. Way too much oil. I prefer the coles hash brown bites in the oven.

      • The chips have changed a lot from when they opened (didn't enjoy) to now (enjoy).. but despite the name, their other menu items are what I go there for.

        • Ohh sweet, what would you recommend from the menu?

OM Vegetarian in Elizabeth St near Flinders St and next to Coles. $6.50 for all you can eat vegetarian. The fresh bread is the best

    • I always want to try that place but end up forgetting somehow. Definitely within tbe next week!

    • Tried it 2 days ago. I got the $10 meal, it was alright. Their bread was pretty good but it took them a long time to bring it around the second time, like really long. I liked how it was $6.50 for all you can eat, a lot of people would appreciate it, I sure did, good on the owners :)
