Accomodation Options For The LA Region

Hi guys I'm planning to book a trip to LA in about a month and travel towards the start of July for a week or two.

Anyway whilst browsing through the listings on booking.com I've noticed that there's really nothing to be had for less than about $90 a night. I guess my question regards affordable accommodation options and private rooms at or around the $50 price mark.

If I'm travelling around and sightseeing all day I really only need somewhere to recharge my phone and unwind so anywhere in the LA region is fine.

Anyway if anyone's been to the states and has any cheap accomadation tips that would be great.

I spent Friday looking myself with a marginally higher budget and it's not cheap around the main areas.

Best options were backpackers and Airbnb out of the main areas.

I ended up getting a hotel in Koreatown off Hotline but also tried Priceline (unsuccessful bids around West Hollywood at $180 a night)

The LA region is absolutely massive. Where do you want to stay? The beaches? Hollywood? Downtown? Anaheim?

Regardless of your answer, I'd look into private rooms in hostels. And if that's still too much, consider a mix of dorms for a week then a private for a week.

A lot of backpackers tent to have powerpoints in your bunk so you can recharge your tech when you recharge yourself.
