LPG gas compliance plate

Hi,

Had a guy replace the regulator on our LPG system ($220). As he was leaving he said 'I better make you a a compliance plate certificate'. I'll drop it off tomorrow. It'll cost you $80.

We don't have one. I know we should have one. Hasn't been a problem for 6 years though.

So is $80 a fair price? Excessive?

Thanks :)

Yes, in my opinion, it's fair.

I do electrical work, and fill out a similar compliance certificate.

If the job is small, I'll charge $75. This covers the cost of the certificate, the time to fill it out and the time to lodge it.

I won't charge on bigger jobs.

People try to weasel out of a certificate because they are tightarses, so I'll just add the $75 to the quote and won't itemise it. I don't do work without a certificate, otherwise it could come back on me if the house burns down.

For insurance reasons, I would get certificates for all licenced work.

    Cheers

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah he seemed like a decent bloke so I thought it was probably about right.

A hadn't thought of insurance reasons, so that's good to know considering it was a pretty massive leak which could have been bad!

    Thanks again mate
