Qatar Airways 45,000 Qmiles Perth to Munich / London Various Dates around Early October Normally 90,000

Obviously not for everyone but if you have some Qmiles with Qatar I just noticed it's half the usual price on a selection of dates to get to Munich/London and possibly other spots in Europe. It is normally 90,000 and if you work on the supposed(approximate) rate of 190 qpoints = 1 US dollar then its US$236.8 plus Aud $100(taxes) = ~ AUD$415 for a one way flight to europe.. killer deal if you fit the requirements obviously many won't but just in-case…
there is also the option of Qmiles + Cash I haven't looked into this so I don't know its viability I just know you need at least 50% miles to do the Qmiles + Cash deal so any less then 22500 miles don't waste your time.

Just noticed its possible to get the return leg to singapore for 37500 points.. but Muc->Per is 90,000

  • Is this in Y or J?

  • Is there any way to search for flights without having points in your account? I have points with Amex at the moment but wanting to fly with Qatar to Europe but searching for availability is a nightmare on Asia miles / Qantas etc

Have you tried Multi-city on Qantas? Something like [City in Aus] to Doha, then Doha to [City in Europe].

I find Qantas to be one of the best for seeing availability, and don't believe you need points to see it (but do need sufficient points to be able to see the taxes). I think BA is also reasonable, but from memory you need an account with their FF program (which requires a fake UK address).

    • Really? I found booking a Qatar flight on points via qantas.com.au very simple (they're one of the OneWorld airlines showing up in their search results online contrary to eg Malaysia Air). Also, this post is about using Qmiles for Qatar flights. As with any airline, award availability on its own flights is much better than what they allocate to their OneWorld partners. The only way I'm aware of that you can get Qmiles via AmEx is by transferring your Membership Rewards points to SPG & Marriott and then buying one of their 7-night hotel vouchers with 85,000 Qmiles for 180,000 Membership Rewards points.
