Best Bluetooth Dongle for Gaming? (Switch Pro Controller)

I purchased a pro controller from a recent deal knowing that it works on PC. But because it is a custom built pc, it doesn't have Bluetooth.

I considered just picking up a cheap random dongle from eBay but after I read bunch of posts online saying that some dongles are not optimal for gaming, i didn't purchase one with the pro controller.

Today, I'm picking up the controller from a local target but i still don't have the dongle for pc.

My budget is about $20 but of course lower is better. (I would prefer it to be under 10 if possible, but performance first)

MSY has a BT dongle on special for $7 bucks atm. I have no idea how good it is.

  • They're basically the same. Just get the cheapest one from any computer shop and that'll work.

That's basically ignorant, there are inferior products and wireless devices are highly variable as far as performance.

      • Well as long as it supports BT2.0 then you're set as far as PCs go. We're not talking about streaming lossless content w/o any drops at 500MB/s over BTLE so it's safe to say my statement is correct.

        • FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!

        • some inferior products have bad signal strength / pairing issue. I don't think streaming would be the major concern here.

Also, it's always good to get the matching version that device uses - even though there's backward compatibility supports BT 2.0.

        • Looks like there's nothing to see here. Move on, move on

  • I use a generic Bluetooth adapter for gaming with an Xbone controller. I don't notice a very big latency when it comes to inputs (yes, there is latency involved whenever you use wireless connection methods) and compared to my Steam Controller which pairs via 2.4ghz, couldn't tell a difference.
