Is There a Way around to Use Qantas Lounge without Flying with Qantas?

Hi Everyone!

Just a question, I have a complimentary pass of Qantas Lounge and I have a transit at Melbourne airport for 6 hours! Im arriving in Melbourne via Qantas but onwards flight is with Etihad. According to their terms and Conditions onwards flight much be with Qantas or Jetstar.

Is there a way around to use Qantas Lounge? I am a member of Priority Pass, Veloce Lounge but they don't have any lounges in Melbourne.

Thanks guys!

You need to show your boarding pass for entry so I think not.

  • Give the complimentry pass to someone waiting at a Qantas flight gate to take you in as a guest.

Don't think you can bring in a guest with a complimentary pass. You could try trade the comp pass to someone going into the lounge who has normal access and they can guest you in.

      • If you are bringing in a guest on a "normal access" pass they will check both individuals boarding passes

        • Thanks popcornready that only makes sense!

        • Depends on the day probably . I have been guested in a few times even though my host was flying qantas and i was on another airline.

  • Buy a Jetstar ticket to an international destination leaving at a similar time to your Etihad flight. Check in and collect your boarding pass even if you have no intention of taking the flight. You now have a valid boarding pass that you can use your Qantas lounge pass with.

If it was me though I would sell the lounge pass and turn it into $50 cash.

Good way to delay the everyone on that Jetstar flight just so he can access the lounge.

    • Great Idea :D but I wouldn't do that michaelTito is right, I will probably just go out and do something else around Melbourne Airport!!

  • Maybe you could swap it for another airline lounge pass ?. Offer $20 or something as incentive .

Try waiting out the front of a lounge you are allowed to be guested into. Give the lounge pass you have as an incentive for a random person to guest you in :)

I know someone whp does that regularly… minus the trade. People just let him in.

      • Boom ^^ great idea.

      • No airline lounge is worth me standing out the front of it waiting for strangers to come by and asking them if they could guest me in.

Thanks guys I did what "bandana" advised and sold them for $100. I will just go out of Airport and explore Melbourne for little bit I guess.

    • Hungry Jacks at the airport is a good spot. It's much quieter and $1 coffees.
