Any reasonable portable jump starter device?

I'm looking for a portable jump starter device. No the big one sold at Supercheap. There one available at JB hifi, a brand called Cygnet but that around $200.

Are there any good less expensive brands online?

300A should do the trick … small, lightweight.

I spent around $150 [got it free in the end due to delivery times] for a branded one last year …

    Noco Genius GB40 for $155
    E-Power jump starter for $79
    Generic jump starter for $70

You can spend a lot of money for a "branded" one like the Noco, but there's very little evidence that they are any better than generic versions. There's a youtube clip of a guy who opened one up and tested it and wasn't too impressed with it. Basically, all of these jump starters are limited by the thin cables. I wouldn't recommend spending over $100 unless you want the comfort of a brand name.

  • You want cheap Defibrillator?
    (I know a guy…) lol

    • Only if it jump starts a car :p

  • The one I bought is the Suaoki jump starter for under $100. It's marketed as 20,000mah but is really 16,000mah as one person tested it. The amperage numbers are probably also inflated. Most of the reviews are useless unless they test it with proper equipment. Anyway, my advice still stands that you shouldn't pay an arm and a leg for a jump starter as most of the expensive ones are simply overpriced. Good luck with your purchase!
