Nintendo Switch left joycon sync issue

Got my switch about a month ago, has been playing Zelda, at the beginning the joycon controllers have been normal, but for the past week that the left joycon has been playing up, will go suddenly out of sync or not responding to the game.
I have done what the "official suggestions" of the issue, to remove an much interference around the console as possible but the issue still present. Anyone has similar issue? What can I do next?

  • warranty?

  • Contact the store you bought it from or Nintendo and organise it to be sent to Nintendo to be fixed.

This issue has been well reported on many gaming forums, sadly. If I were you, I'd get a replacement under warranty and then sell your console and buy another one in six to twelve months time. Launch consoles always have issues like this. A million and one people will try and convince you otherwise but if you just want a games console to play games (and not have to deal with rubbish like this) you should always wait a minimum of six months after a product launch before investing in new piece of hardware. Unless, of course, you have money and time to waste and like being a beta hardware tester at the mercy of a warranty department.

    • Yeah, going back in time and not buying the console will fix their joycon problem…

    • I'd get a replacement under warranty

Is Nintendo doing replacements or fixes? Not sure why you were downvoted, your advice is basically good. Early adopters are always stuck with any Version 1.0 issues that come up.

  • Either get Nintendo to replace it meaning you may have to go to Consumer Affairs if they don't comply.

Or some people have added an aerial in a simple mod that fixes it. Basically it involves solder and a 1 or 2 inch piece of wire, very easy as far as mods but not for everyone obviously.

  • Nintendo will do a very-few-questions-asked repair if you call them up. You send it away and they do a warranty repair (I believe you don't pay postage). All they do is glue a little cube of conductive foam inside that reportedly fixes the issue. I think it is up to a week turnaround. Considering doing it myself.

  • bought a switch a week ago, experienced this prob the whole time. bout to do the warranty return and buy a second joycon pair in the meantime and cry if thats also affected.
