Hi

Just wondering just bought Honda Civic (17 model). It comes with privacy glass for rear and back window only.

Any suggestion for company that do tinting?

dont know why you would pay $495 for 2 windows to be tinted.

    • the problem with this people in gumtree do they provide lifetime warranty?

      • its $130……. you could get your car tinted 3 times over and still have money left over.

        • what im saying i know its cheap but how about the quality of it?

        • @W0rldtraveller: Call and ask what film they are using, research that film online. believe it or not there are numerous window tinting forums.

Also, my understanding is a fair percentage of OEM privacy glass is just coloured glass which does not contain the properties of some window tint films.

  • Im like you. I only wanted 3M film to be used on my car and could not be happier at the difference in heat. This film is not cheap

Having said that I had my front windows done for $179 here http://www.carboncartinting.com.au

Dont worry about the rear windows and UV protection etc by covering them in clear film. Its BS

Are you sure about this? is it mean that the color/darkness between front and rear window is different?

      • Yes

Rear privacy windows are around 20% tint that is why the colour is different

Maximum legal tints for the fronts allowed are 35% so you will always end up with the front windows being lighter than the rears if you keep things legal
The higher the % the lighter the tint

I have a Kluger with factory privacy glass on the back and have no problem with heat or UV
Putting my hands on the tinted driver side window and the rear passenger window I notice no difference in heat on the inside

  • carbon car systems blacktown, was about $250 3 years ago for a mazda 3. as for the tint mines still like new and I havnt noticed less or more heat will be hard to tell unless I have an identical car next to me to compare.

  • mine is max legal all around but I should have gone darker on the back window

    • +1

it is legal to have the rear side windows as dark as you like

      • are you sure about NSW for a passenger vehicle not commercial after 1994
