GearBest vs Geek buying?

Looking to get another s905 Android box, I seem to recall that one of those stores is supposedly much better than the other?

Opinions?

  • In the event of a mishap with the order (probably uncommon but nonetheless), getting a refund is near impossible with Geek-buying. They will literally beg you to go away/once you give them your money, they'll latch on with an iron grip. My first and last experience with them. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/267251

No problems so far with Gearbest although they have a pretty patchy history.

    • You'll find the vast majority of issues that plagued GeekBuying back then are no longer present. For starters staff aren't busy moving their office, the stock system communicates with the website and there are more customer service reps available.

In the chance that something does go wrong or if anyone has any queries there is a customer service manager now assigned to OzB which I can relay messages to.

      • Wow - we have our own CSO. OzB rules OK !!

      • I'll admit you were a great help. Hopefully those problems aren't relevant now - the process simply too long to "resolve" + the rep pleading for sympathy, ":-( I am so sad and i was punished by our manager" + resorting to scare-tactics "should it arrive in a damaged condition, you'll have to pay for repair/restocking fees."

They used every trick in the book to save a few dollars - I couldn't even return it since the delivery-man (probably one of their workers) dumped the package inside the letterbox with-out ringing the doorbell… I stayed at home that day to anticipate its arrival.

The product still remains in my cupboard, unopened. Absolute nightmare.

        • Your experience and others is what led to the changes. Last thing GeekBuying wants is to be banned several times like Gearbest was.
