QLED named to confuse customer with the superior OLED technology.

    • Just as HiSense did with ULED

      • But unlike Hisense's ULED TVs, QLEDs aren't anywhere near cheap enough to impulse buy.
I think QLED will only make customers who were intending to buy an OLED tv also check out similarly priced QLEDs (or hell, it might even backfire and make people considering QLED check out the similarly named OLED tech for the first time).
And after comparing the two, most customers would (hopefully) go with the generally better looking OLED anyway.

Just to make it clear those who knows little info about tv…. it is NOT oled, its still using LED the only difference they increase the NIT level to 1500 brightness and that's about it. Samsung doesn't produce OLED.
You might aswell buy the LG OLED for this price

https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/lg-55-inches139cm-super-uhd-l… <——- This is the better value

    • As LEDs best run at full brightness for colour temperature, it will likely suffer severe flickering on any lower reasonable brightness due to PWM flicker unless it uses DC voltage dimming.

No. It is still LCD .
Totally dishonest. If Kim Jong-un turns Samsung into a smoking crater, well … karma.

    Better be careful about "Q".

My opinion - LG's OLED way better than QLED. I went to JB Hi Fi and they kept both TVS side by side. OLED superb quality.

    • OLED is actually LED. This is not.
Well, it does have some LEDs, but so did my old CRT television.
      For $3k, don't be conned.

QLED is just another LCD reboot (same backlit rubbish). As other's have said, called QLED to fool people into thinking comparable to superior OLED tech. Samusng suck, they just suck. Sony and Panasonic are taking things forward and progressing to OLED, Samsung are sticking with the cheap option, and trying to price it higher, but still substantially lover than OLED. Pathetic, truly insulting and pathetic.
