  • The real question; is Star Fox Guard and the steelbook worth the extra $41?

Steel book is definitely worth the extra money so I can use it to slap myself in the face as punishment for buying this at release

I have been gaming for 30 years. Lots of games, lots of systems. Never have I ever played a game that's an absolute nightmare to control.
And I mean a real frightfest.
I'm sure some people like it and can handle the controls, but let me assure you, after spending 3 hours with the game, I was so close to microwaving the disc it's not funny.

As a gamer for slightly less than 30 years I value and trust the opinion of the internet on this one and, like Duke Nukem Forever, have actively avoided adding Starfox Zero to my Wii U collection, regardless of how cheap it gets.

      • DNF is 100x better than SFZ

Yeah it was a turd control wise. Got through the game but I had to force myself through it.

Thing is, even if the controls were fine the game still wouldn't be particularly good. There was very little improvement over the last 90s title and I think after 15 years we should expect more.

Yeah the good old lylat wars. Damn I played the hell outta that game!

Star Fox Zero is cool. Makes me wish we still had Crimson Skies on Xbox. Fun game, highly underrated.

Controls fine, tutorials explanatory. Rumors about the game were fake news angry nerdom perpetuated. Mostly insecure gamer types looking to fit with the internet gamer crowd (mostly xbox, ps console warriors) crying about controls. I like my Xbox controller but not every game systems needs the same clone controller. Those that are terrible at anything that isn't a copy paste dualshock/duke are admittedly just terrible at games, especially with slightly different controls. Alot of depth to the game too. Also Insecure Nintendo types looking to fit in too. Real talk.

If kids can understand it, aging gamer types could. Lol. Good to see the Nintendo company try new things.

Angry gamer types complain about these games but they're fun. I guess it reminds them that games are for kids and that makes them mad.
