Perfect speakers & amp system for a small shop

Hi Guys,

Anyone have some recommendations for satellite speakers (x2) and amp that won't blow the bank but provide decent sound?

Will be installed at a 36m2 takeaway joint.

Cheers

  • you want it to doof or happy with tinny sound?

    • Somewhere in the middle would be nice

  • +1
    • Thanks!
Don't think those satellites would blend with the decor. Preferably something that can be wall mounted and a little less intrusive on the eye would be great.
      I don't ask for much I know ;)

  • Behringer 1C "monitor speakers" come in black or white and with mounting brackets….. then get some sort of little amplifier to go with them, maybe TPA3116 GP1 (ebay) and a suitable power supply, at a pinch maybe an old laptop PSU you might have already..(as voltage can be anywhere from 12-24v). My recommendation for best-bang-for-buck "Chi-Fi" anyway, lol.. lots of tinkering possible but these 3 items, together with some speaker wire and a connecting cable for your ipod or whatever would give a great overall sound "as is"

    • Awesome post. thanks mate. Will look into it now

    • Hi Mate, I'm definitely going the Behringers. As for the amp do you know a similar type amp than can be purchased from an AUS seller?
This TPA3116 GP1 listed on Ebay is from China/Hong Kong and wouldn't arrive in time. (2 weeks)

      • Not really, I notice some TPA3116 mini amps on ebay purporting to be delivery from NSW but that can and is likely BS.. But you might want to look at that type of amp with bass and treble controls cone to think of it. All these little chip amps are remarkably clear sounding but nice to have some EQ control in case, to suit acoustics and taste. Is there an old amp of any sort you can use in the meantime? Some $20 stereo thing from Gumtree or cashies? The Behringer 1c speakers you can't go wrong with, versatile and worth every penny.

  • jees, you're overthinking it

most of the shops just use a friggin' boombox they dont use any more set to 2day fm etc.

    • What can I say? I want a good environment for my customers.

      • I think you should have a couple of massage chairs too, lol

  • Spend the money on some decent in roof speakers
